I’d walk ten miles in the snow up hill for an update.

Well it’s here, update day, and what kind of treat do I have for you? Well let’s just say it’s not really that pleasant, and I say this with all the love in the world. I love a treat that I can really not like and also freaks me out beyond belief.

Other than that you may have noticed that slight lack of updates on this blog lately. Well that’s all changing and as of now I’m back on the horse. So keep your eyes peeled, and what ever else peeled that you would regularly peel when keeping an eye on a blog.

Smell the flower that is update day!

The weeks review is an odd one. It’s slimy, orange and has fruit in it. Best of all it fits in your pocket and you don’t have to keep it in the fridge. With that kind of description I’m sure your mouth must be watering. Did I mention I have no idea what it’s called because I can’t read the package? Good times my friend.

I also wanted to let you know that if you want to give the gift that is the Candy of the Month Club as a Christmas gift then sign up soon. All memberships must be purchased by the end of November if you want the package to be sent out in the middle of December.

Can you speak French?

I came across this cool French candy ad. I like the prizes you can get with your treats; a creepy bear or what appears to be a plastic spoon. Man that’s priceless.

It’s all in a name

It’s a happy day here at Candy Critic. You see one of the little goals of this site was to find a candy with the shortest name, and we did. It’s called 3, not sure why, not sure what it means, but we’re still really happy. So happy that we couldn't take a clear picture for the life of us.
It made me think though. Some treats have strange names, many of which we don’t even think about. I mean what kind of name is Kit Kat. It doesn’t make any sense at all.

I’m also of the belief that Oh Henry! Is a little too obscene.

Bonk!

In an attempt to culturize… culturere… to give you young kids a little more culture here’s a great ad I remember for what could be the best candy created in the 80s.

I’m still not really sure why they laugh when giant food products crush them. Come to think of it this ad is really creepy.

Updates are like rain

Updates are like rain
But they’re not a pain
They tell you about a treat
That might be really neat
This treat is all right
It’s called a Mars Delight
If you’re a member Jack
You’ll get one in your pack

You could also get
Something that you will fret
Some pudding that is gross
You just may lose your toast
The flavours are repulsive
For this word I cannot rhyme
This poem isn’t quite dandy...

I’m going to go eat some candy

Picture perfect

If you see this cute little magazine on a rack in your local store, why not pick one up. It’s got all kinds of fun articles about restaurants, attractions, and what’s this?..

Why a little interview with me. Well I’m off to go shoot a future episode of the Candy Critic show and buy some candy for the members.

Friends don’t let friends drive with candy.

I should let it be known that this summer was the first time I’d ever been to a drive in movie. I’m a city kid and we just didn’t have drive in theatres anywhere. Right after the first movie (that sucked) there was the great little animated intermission show. Nothing sells candy like a poorly produced bit of animation.

When you look to the west, realise that this day is like no other, for it is update day.

So it’s the day after Halloween and I’m feeling like I drank too much, only instead of booze it was chocolate and treats. I’m also tired and I’m kind of hoping I can eat a huge salad today for dinner. Add to that the fact that this weeks review is one of the worst tasting things I’ve ever eaten I can tell you that I’m in Candy hell.

We also have a new article online today. It’s one of those things that made me think, then when I gave it some thought I realised how silly it was to write up in article form. But I did it so I figure why not tell the world.
